Meet A Floronic Foe

I ran Pathfinder last night and nearly authored a second TPK in a row!  Luckily, everyone survived.  One of the party's foes last night was a dead goblin Druid, animated by infernal & intelligent plant matter.  Hey, it's fantasy, what do you want?

I found this awesome DC Heroclix Floronic Man mini to use for the occasion and I re-based him.  I think he fit the bill quite well, but see for yourselves!

A trifle blurry, but a scale comp does help!
Now my Pathfinder players have got their PCs to 5th level, so we'll move on to the next chapter in Rise of the Rune Lords.

Thanks for visiting!

Model For My Sorcerer

In addition to running Pathfinder at my local shop, I have been thinking about it a lot. Reading various sourcebooks and basically immersing myself in the PF RPG helps me to keep my enthusiasm and interest level high.

In keeping with this, I decided to make myself a PC of my own.  I rarely play spellcasters, so I thought it might be fun to build a Sorcerer.  It will get me more familiar with the spellcasting rules and provide me a fresh angle on the game.  Whenever I make a PC for a game like PF, I think of what sort of mini I will use to show him on the tabletop.  I immediately went to Reaper and found this guy:

So now I am hoping he shows up soon because I am raring and ready to go to get some paint on him!

Once he's done I will show him off here and also discuss some of the decisions I made in designing him as a 1st level Sorcerer in PF.

Thanks for visiting!

Halfling Cavalier!

When one of my best friends (hey, Jeff!) told me he needed a model for his new character, a Halfling Cavalier for his Pathfinder RPG Shackled City campaign, I was happy to step in and provide an appropriate figure conversion.

Finding good halflings (i.e., without big hairy feet and misshapen apple-heads) can be tough, so I went to my collection of D&D pre-paints and looked through the gnomes. Gnomes make great halflings in the newer D&D version of this small race.

Now on to the pics!

Jeff's character wields a magical blade that channels lightning bursts, so I tried to show that with a glowing paint job.

The dog is from an Iron Wind Metals Beast Master and war-hounds blister pack.

Here's a comp shot with a standard 28mm figure for scale:

Best of luck keeping this PC alive amidst the dangers of the Shackled City, Jeff!
