Sci-Fi Utility Vehicle: Stalinets Tractor

When I came across this Flames of War resin two-pack online, I immediately thought it would make a great sci-fi utility vehicle for Starport 3030.  I could see these puttering around an old mining site, or being used in a pinch for emergency transport by a small group of desperate fighters.

The Aquan Adventurer

The Blue Moon line of 15mm sci-fi aliens is a tremendous resource for big-battle games. But it's quite possible to pluck any mini from any of the ranges for use with 15mm Skirmish. In this, my Starport 3030 setting wherein all of my 15mm sci-fi skirmishes will take place.

Here are some shots of the Aquan sergeant model from that selfsame range of Blue Moon aliens. You have to love the "rodian" resemblance on these guys! I know I do!

Starport 3030: A Pair of Smugglers

Painted some 15mm sci-fi yesterday, and thought it might be fun to re-visit the Starport 3030 setting I dreamed up a while back.

This unlikely pair is Omar Said and Burrgle, his alien "assistant". This odd couple lives on the fringes of the 3030, making a living moving illicit cargoes from Warehouse to starship and back!

"So, You're An Alien, Then?"

Starport 3030 needs more alien denizens. That's for sure. While sifting through some of my RAFM 15mm sci-fi packs, I spotted this little guy. He can't possibly be intended as a normal human, I thought, so I gave him some cool purple skin-tones and presto, one more alien for the 3030!






I think I'll call him Besh. He's local muscle for hire, but he also does mechanic work on the side. He can fix just about anything.

3030's Resident Scholar

Dev Ashe is Starport 3030's most learned man--he'll tell you that himself over a cup of grog at Jasper's. He's earned three degrees in Xeno Anthropology and Religion from the University on Thaxis. Also claims to possess amazing psychic potential.





Rik Flores works for Dev. He's a driver, a digger, and a bodyguard. That sawed-off he's carrying isn't for show.






Daymon Sul isn't just a dealer in alien antiquities, he's Ashe's partner when it comes to moving rare alien artifacts off of the planet and into the black market.







Even a scholar has to eat!

The Power Behind Starport 3030

Baron Aldus Sarkos holds the lease on Starport 3030's planetary rights. As a duly appointed representative of the Imperial Government on the planet, he is also the seen as the last stop when it comes to making legal decisions. His house guard (to be featured in a future post) comprise one of the most elite fighting forces on the planet.





His niece is Leal Sarkos, a headstrong woman looking to make her own way as a starship captain, but first she needs a ship!

Marik Jaysen, Bounty Hunter

One of the many denizens of Starport 3030, Marik Jaysen makes his way in the galaxy hunting down wanted criminals and bringing them to justice.












This is a remarkable character figure from the old Laserburn sci-fi line now sold by 15mm.co.uk.

Also from that same dynamite line is Jaysen's robotic assistant and friend, Tyron-Delta9 (aka TD9). Formerly a security hover-bot now several generations out of date, Jaysen purchased TD9 from the scrap heap and restored his logic circuits. His tinkering also gave the robot some rather interesting personality quirks, chief among them a penchant for driving too fast around the spaceport.










This unlikely pair of bounty hunters needs something to zip around the spaceport in, so they have a few options.



The Ceres-IV Runabout does not have tremendous range or speed, but its superior maneuverability make it ideal for zipping about the crowded streets of the 3030.





This nifty little model can also be had from the Laserburn line.

Sometimes when he has larger quarry to bring in, or a sofa to move, Jaysen will borrow his accountant, Grif Memmon's Hover Sedan. This El Camino like ride provides plenty of space in the rear compartment for an unconscious bail jumper. Or a piece of hastily discarded furniture.









And here's Grif Memmon, accountant to bounty hunters and raconteurs alike!
