More pulp action! It's the best not-Indiana Jones that I've seen so far in 28mm, from Old Glory's Blue Moon line. Sculpted once again by Bob Naisnith. I've seen (and have) the not-Indy sculpted by Mark Copplestone and, while I like it, I still think that this one is better. Bob Naismith hit it out of the park with this one!

Blue Moon Nova Patrol
I'd painted some Blue Moon Nova Patrol 15mm a while back, but never got around to basing them, so here they are after a quick basing job!
These figures remain some of the best 15mm sci-fi in Blue Moon's extensive catalog. They possess a real Pulpy feel that gives them plenty of character!

Blue Moon Tawanax vs. Khurasan Garn
Earlier this week a reader PM'ed me and asked that I do a post with photos directly comparing the scale of Khurasan's Garn and the Blue Tawanax. Nobody can say I don't do requests!
Here goes!

ITEN: Rapturous Beasts Ascending
So my buddy Stu saw my post on Reaper's mutant and got a burr in his saddle to play some In The Emperor's Name (ITEN). If you have not heard of it, it's a mainly fan-made skirmish system for doing Abnett-style Inquisitorial games in the 40K universe. I had the good fortune to nose my way into the process a few years ago and add some cool stuff to the 2nd ed. I know there is a 3rd ed. in the works, but we'll be using the 2nd ed. this morning.
Anyway, I dug through my extensive collection of minis suitable for building a warband for this, and decided on an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor and his band. This guy is a bit of a heretic, so he's willing to pal around with aliens to get the job done. Check them out!
I'll stat the Interdiction Team up as Guardsmen with shotguns. The alien psyker will be made up using the standard psyker rules and profile. Ygori the mutant will be a standard Inquisitorial agent with some sort of minor special ability. I'll include the Kroot using the Strange Ally rules that allows one model from another list.
So yeah, ITEN makes for a great way to dust off the old (or not so old!) minis and get some gaming in!

Here's the band. 200 pts., 8 models. |
Inquisitor Holger Geist (a Cobalt mini). |
Ygori, his mutant henchmen. |
Greskin, alien psyker (Blue Moon mini). |
P'knoc, Kroot tracker. |
Imperial Interdiction Team. |

A Dandy Bravo
Not quite the Scarlet Pimpernel, but I did have a desire to do something a bit more flamboyant than the last mini I showed, so I painted this Blue Moon mini up on Sunday afternoon.

And here's a comp shot with a Reaper mini:

As you can see he's a bit shrimpy compared to the Reaper figure, but for RPG action, this sort of thing is not as big of a deal.

A Knife Wielding Bravo
Blue Moon Manufacturing and Old Glory have both supplied a lot of minis for my various fantasy campaigns.
Blue Moon's line of Swashbucklers, Rogues, and Desperadoes makes perfect fodder for Freeport and its mix of black powder and fantasy trappings.
Today's mini eschews noisy firearms, however, and instead places his trust in some good old fashioned knife work.

This fellow already had the misfortune of clashing blades with a very angry halfling (one of my party-members!).

RoboFire: Blue Moon Walker
I decided to add a little variety to the Knights of Saturn RoboFire force with a Blue Moon walker.
It's a very different style from the Rebel Miniatures figures, but I think the paint scheme ties it in.

Strange Aeons: Getting to the Fight!
I understand that Strange Aeons does not have detailed vehicle rules; that's fine. We're not after a rules set for crash derby or drag racing, but when I build a force, I like to build a story around them. I figure my Threshold Agents get to the scene of cult activity in a junky looking truck that conceals their true nature.
A while back I picked up an old toy, added some Sloppy Jalopy wheels to it, and then painted it for gaming. This truck will make a perfect vehicle and terrain piece for our SA games!

Strange Aeons: The Russian Is Coming!
Whenever I make Pulp crews, no matter for what game, I like to go for an international flair.
I also think Pulp warbands should have a scholarly type or two. When I came across this Blue Moon Russian Agent in my backlog, and I thought, there's my scholar! Olof Neski will be my Threshold team's linguist, but I also figure him as a pretty solid brawler as well.

Once my rules arrive, we'll see just how he stats up, but I am liking the flavor he'll add to my band!

15mm Fantasy: Blue Moon Alien vs. Copplestone Northman
I thought folks might what to see a scale comparison of the Blue Moon Tawanax aliens next to one of the Copplestone Northman models.
Anyway, here they are, battling it out in some temple scenery!

And here's a shot of the latest warrior I painted next to his fellows:

Blue Moon Robots Final Pic
A while back I painted 13 multi-part Robots for Blue Moon's web site. Here is the final pic courtesy of Blue Moon's store page.
They look pretty cool all lined up like that!
I can't stress how cool and adaptable the minis in this boxed set are. If you like robots, get them!

Blue Moon Shivan Sisterhood
Blue Moon makes a lot of great 15mm sci-fi minis for the upcoming Galactic War I, but these figures can just as easily be used for other games.
Yesterday I dug out a a figure from the Shivan Sisterhood pack and painted her up to use for play-testing a new game I am working on (more on that tomorrow).
Anyway, here she is:

And a couple of comp shots:

Blue Moon Preview: 15mm Space Knights
Just got some castings of the first two Space Knights for a future Blue Moon 15mm sci-fi pack. I suggested they call these guys Space Knights, for obvious reasons!
There will be more to come, and hopefully, we'll see them sometime around Historicon.

And some comp shots with other 15mm sci-fi to give you an idea of the scale of these awesome new minis!
First, a Blue Moon Aquan:

Next,a GZG Space Pirate:

Next, a Critical Mass alien crewman:

Then, a 15mm.co.uk Space Noble:

Finally, a RAFM militiaman:

Blue Moon Robot Preview IV
This little guy has been one of my favorites of the 28mm, multi-pose robots Blue Moon will be releasing at Historicon. Again, you'll be able to assemble the various separate heads and arms in this boxed set in any way you like, matching them with 13 unique bodies. A very cool set!

And here's a comp shot with one of the roughly 30mm tall bots from the set:
