Rats of Unusual Size? You Better Believe It!

As promised, I have finished my unit of 6 Rat Ogres for the 500 pt. WFB Doubles event. Each Rat Ogre has his own unique skin tone, and please don't ask how I came up with each one, because I will never remember! The whole thing had a bit of a mad scientist feel to it, which is befitting a Clan Moulder warlord, I think.

Anyway, here they are!

Now certain "friends" of mine are trying to goad me into expanding this unit when I make my larger Skaven army. I should note that none of these individuals have offered to a.) buy me the extra boxes of Rat Ogres, or b.) help me assemble and paint them. Oh well, they are a well intentioned lot. Still, I could see adding a third rank... I am a Moulder Warlord after all!

Anyway, I also have plans for that unit of 60 giant rats, so more on that when progress warrants a report.

  1. Nice work on these. Skaven have a lot of cool toys now and a lot of it in plastic.

I have friends who also encourage me to paint more models so they can of course kill them...

I just realized last night that the 1500 point army I've been building is all metal, very old school eh?

  2. All metal? What faction?

I've become a bit of a plastic snob when it comes to GW these days. If it's not in plastic, I turn my nose up to it. Weird. Plenty of other stuff I do is metal. Plastic is just so much easier to work with, and it does not chip, and generally doesn't break when dropped from a four foot table edge.

    Thanks for the kind words!

  3. "Rodents Of Unusual Size? I doubt they exist..."

I have always liked the rat-ogres. Your mention of a "mad scientist" feel has sold me on the idea. You see, there is a mad biologist living on Venus, and he experimetns on plants, animals and men, combining them using means so horrible I dare not say.

    "What are they?"

    "Oh, I dare not say!"
