Off The Shelf: Mythic Japan
Four or five years ago I ran some skirmish games set in Mythic Japan using the Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game rules.
I painted a bout a or more figures for it, and here are two of my favorites.

I always thought that that ogre was a great looking fig. Also, the L5R stuff was always well-sculpted. For me, the problem with the L5R stuff is that it was so genre-specific. I never knew anyone who actually collected ( let alone painted ) the figs. Although, I did know a few people who played the card game - you may remember one of them yourself...
